Our Founder and CEO

Gary Beck BSc(Hons), MInstL, RAF
Founder and CEO
After serving as a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Air Force I spent several years as an Operations Director for an international commercial research company where I specialised in due diligence and fraud investigations.
In 2015 I joined Action for Blind People as the Service Manager for Staffordshire. Whilst Action was a national charity it was firmly grounded in it's local communities and very much operated on a local basis. It set me up for what was to become an amazing and humbling career supporting people with sight loss and their friends and families.
Action for Blind People merged with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and for 10 years I worked with almost every department in the organisation, shaping services, improving systems and processes and developing technology solutions.
The pandemic, repeated financial crises and the shift by many larger charities towards campaigning and social change, increased financial and operational pressure on smaller charities. Statutory and non-statutory funders increasingly expect more for less, and the need to level the playing field and give smaller charities and non-profits the tools they need, at prices they can afford, is more vital now than ever.
That's why I formed GBD Consultants Ltd; I firmly believe that small to medium charities should not need enterprise budgets, internal IT teams or complex software projects to have access to more efficient processes and modern digital solutions.
